A Day When Everything Went Wrong

16th Feb 2010, Tuesday (初三)
It was around 7PM and was time we headed for Bukit Tinggi for our big dinner. I was granted consent to be the driver on our way. I got carried away and told Zhi Ning that I was going to Bukit Tinggi and she’s like “You lucky devil! I’m only eating at my nanny’s” and then when I started the car, I’m like “Yes! Let her rip! And I’ma gon’ have mean grub for my dinner soon!”

(Driving) Moments later, I heard “Craaaaaaaaak”. Oh my good Lord, what happened?! I thought I had a car wreck. Jasmine (my sis) and Puie Leng (my cousin) was at the back of the car and they saw sparks coming out from beneath the car. That indeed scared the pants off them. Absolute silence for a moment. Without the slightest hesitation, dad got out of the wheels right off the bat and took a look at what on this dang earth actually happened. One of those thingamabobs of the car fell off beneath it and I couldn’t seem to move the car anymore because it kept scratching the road whenever I tried moving it to see if it could be driven any further. Then I tried to park it at the side of the road where it was safer. I told myself that there must be fireworks from my dad later. For some strange reason, he didn’t say anything and just asked me for a flashlight to check the car for damage. I didn’t even dare utter a syllable, man!

On the other hand, inevitably, mom was telling me off for having “totaled” the car. Er, no, ripping into me more like it. She’s like “You’re not experienced enough to drive the car… yada yada yada” and she just went on and on away! I’m like “Gosh, can you go easy on me?” BECAUSE I didn’t actually crash into anything AND the car had already been on the blink even before I actually fumbled the car key into the ignition! It was still a def-looking car, not yet a clunker! I didn’t know why, I just felt sorry to have made this blooper, blunder anyway. I called it a blunder because we broke down miles from anywhere, no one saw it, yeah, “blunder” would be the better word there. We couldn’t make Bukit Tinggi and ended up at 双喜楼 = =

Mannnnn! That was like a bad dream! Couldn’t go to Bukit Tinggi……… Christ!! I knew, I knew that my cousins were disappointed because their hope of dining at Bukit Tinggi had altogether gone kaput.

PS : AIN'T my fault, OK? It was the car’s. Yo, Zhi Ning, I'll be bound that you thought I was dining at Bukit Tinggi, in fact, NO. hehe. Well, this was a day when everything went WRONG =)
